Chris Welsch’s award-winning photos and stories have taken readers from the steppes of Mongolia to the Badlands of North Dakota, and from the Great Barrier Reef to the Lake of the Woods. His writing and photography have won seven gold medals in the annual Lowell Thomas Travel Journalism Competition. His photographs and stories have  been published in more than 50 daily papers and magazines, including The New York Times and National Geographic Adventure. He was a 2008-2009 Ted Scripps Fellow in Environmental Journalism at the University of Colorado-Boulder.

He is now based in Paris, working as an editor at the International New York Times. He co-owns travelerseyeworkshops.com, a mobile photography school that operates workshops in Orvieto, Italy; Oaxaca, Mexico, and other locations.
